DHL Delivery Failure
I wrote to you on Monday about my experience on this, the second time I've ordered with you.
I did finally get the cake on Tuesday, 5 days too late...
Sorry I can't give you more stars, but the very, very late delivery spoils it for us and for you.
Please find the following text, which is the email I sent to "service@votregateau.fr" on Monday.
Dear Deine Torte Team,
In early April I ordered a Wednesday Themed Cake for my daughter and the cake was terrific and an absolute hit. The experience was such a positive one all around that I was all too happy to repeat it.
A brillant friend was going to be in town and as it happens it was his birthday, I decided to get another one of your lovely cakes as a surprise at his party being held at our home and had it ordered with a delivery date on Friday the 22nd of May. Once again I chose to pay a little more by using DHL as I was pleased with my last experience with them through your company. On Thursday the 21st of May I got my first alert about being delivered the next day by evening. On Friday, early afternoon I got a message saying that the shipment was on hold in Leipzig, awaiting the next planned movement. I was still optimistic, thinking if the cake arrived on Saturday then that would be fine because the Birthday Party was to be held on Sunday.
It is now Monday evening, the Party was Yesterday, our friend is departing tomorrow morning and we had no cake to celebrate with.
I had called DHL on Saturday morning to find out more about the shipment, but we live in a world where a computer answers the phone and can be of no help at all.
I don’t know when this cake will arrive, but when it does it’ll be probably be almost a week since it’d been baked by you, so won’t even have a long shelf-life any more and there’s only three of us in this household with a big cake to eat.
It is such a disappointment, I’m very upset with DHL and will equally send them a letter to express my thoughts about their service. I also think it is unfair towards your cake making craft that your art and work is going to be spoiled through the bad service of DHL.
As you can hopefully understand by my tone in this letter, I am not faulting you. But I will unfortunately think long and hard before getting another cake through you, because of the terrible delivery experience.
